Congregations are invited to apply for Strategic Congregational Support (SCS) from the diocese before the budget is prepared. The application for 2026 is due by July 2, 2025.
This new program instituted by the Diocesan Finance Committee, Strategic Congregational Support (SCS), is meant to provide aid to congregations in the diocese with specific financial needs focused on clergy compensation. It replaces the Strategic Mission Support (SMS) program from prior years with an emphasis on the unique ministries of local congregations.
Congregations receiving aid in prior years should not presume diocesan financial support will continue under this program, and new congregations never receiving support in the past are invited to apply.
In this video, Finance Committee member, the Rev. John Balicki, Priest-in-Charge at St. Luke’s in Wilton, and the Rev. Canon Mark Furlow provide more information about the purpose of SCS and the application.
Please answer with as much detail as possible to help us understand your congregational life and the ministries you are providing as well as the financial issues you are facing and why you are seeking congregational aid. It is the intent of the Finance Committee that congregations with endowed funds will use the income from those funds fully to offset operational expenses.
