The Environmental Priorities Coalition is a partnership of 37 environmental, conservation and public health organizations representing over 120,000 members in Maine. For the current session of the Maine Legislature, EPC has set as a priority enactment of four bills addressing climate change and sustainability.  The Maine Council of Churches of which the Diocese is a member has endorsed the same four bills  The four bills include:

LD 928,  “RESOLUTION, Proposing an Amendment to the Constitution of Maine to Establish a Right to a Clean and Healthy Environment”

LD 1156 has not yet had a public hearing, The other three bills have had hearings, with LD 993 tabled following a work session and LD 928 voted out of Committee on April  11 with an 8 to 5 vote,  headed to the floor of the House and Senate.
