Portland Pride 2025 is on June 21. The parade officially begins at 1 pm.
- SIGN UP HERE TO MARCH
- 11 a.m.: optional poster-making and light refreshments in the lower hall at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke. All are welcome! T-shirts can be purchased at this time (both the design from last year and this one, selected especially by our youth). Donations of $10 per shirt are encouraged.
- 12:30 p.m.: the group will walk together to Zone E assembly point, on Center Street between Congress Street and Free Street, facing Congress Street. There will be several groups in Zone E, so look for the Episcopal Maine flag. (Click to download FAQs above for map.)
- 1 p.m.: the parade begins! We walk roughly a mile through Portland streets, cheering and celebrating.
- Approximately 2 p.m.,(or whenever we reach Deering Oaks Park): the Episcopal Maine aspect of the event concludes and participants are welcome to explore the festival on their own.
Additional Details:
- Parking is ON YOUR OWN. The Cathedral has begun charging for parking in their lot, so if there is space available, you may park there but there will be a parking fee.
- The parade theme is “trans-cendent” this year!
- Youth must be accompanied by an adult for this event. If this poses difficulty, please email Emily Keniston to make alternative arrangements.
- Churches are welcome to bring their banners and to march in groups. The youth are hosting, but ALL are very welcome to march!
What to bring:
- The general rule is “if you bring it, you must carry it!” There are no lockers or spaces to leave personal belongings as we march.
- So please be sure to arrive fed, with sunscreen applied, and ready to walk.
- Bringing a water bottle is advisable, and wear comfortable shoes!
- If you want to hand something out to the crowd, all items must support the message of pride and be handed directly to people. Nothing can be thrown!
