About Libby Catania

Libby is an Episcopal priest, who with her husband co-founded Limina Retreat Center in Searsport. Libby is a lifelong seeker and a lover of all things spiritual and religious. Following a profound experience of God while on retreat at the Upaya Zen Center, and after a time away from The Episcopal Church, she felt a pull to return to The Episcopal Church. Fresh out of a PhD program and early in her academic career, Libby worked as a professor with a hospice and palliative care program. This ministry and the act of blessing people during sacred times in their lives eventually led to ordination (Diocese of Virginia) and parish ministry in the Dioceses of Washington, Virginia, Massachusetts, and now at Limina Retreat Center in Maine. Libby is a trained spiritual director and feels passionately about reminding people that they are worthy, beloved, and sacred beings. Affirming and nurturing each person’s worthiness and belovedness is at the heart of her work at Limina. We welcome Libby to the Episcopal Diocese of Maine and give thanks for her preaching the Word today.
