Bishop Brown is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce Kennedy to the new consultant position of Stewardship Advisor, which is underwritten by the Trustees of Diocesan Funds for a period of two years. In this part-time role, she will support the Faithful Givers initiative by providing guidance and consultation to clergy, parish leadership, and stewardship committees on annual giving, capital and special fundraising initiatives, endowment development, and planned and legacy giving. She will be in attendance at the Faithful Givers Roadshow this weekend.

Kennedy brings to this ministry both decades of professional expertise and a lifelong connection to The Episcopal Church. Raised at Grace Church in Bath and having been a camper at Camp Bishopswood, she developed an early appreciation for faith, community, and philanthropy that continues to shape both her personal and professional life. After living and working in the New York City area for 30 years, she returned to Maine in 2019 as senior director of Southern Maine Operations for the University of Maine Foundation, where she leads efforts to expand engagement and philanthropic support for the University across southern New England and New York.

A graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in journalism, Kennedy built a career in corporate and executive communications before transitioning into nonprofit advancement and higher education leadership.

She is a member of St. David’s in Kennebunk and in the summer, attends St. Philip’s by the Sea Chapel in Biddeford Pool.
