Open Clergy Positions

Quarter-time Priest in Charge | St. Andrew’s Millinocket

St. Andrew’s seeks a priest who will help its congregation deepen their spiritual life, strengthen relationships within the parish, and engage the wider community with compassion and faith. The church seeks leadership that is grounded in prayer, thoughtful preaching, strong pastoral care, and a collaborative approach to ministry. They hope their priest will honor their traditions while helping them grow in welcome, outreach, and discipleship. The qualities that will help an applicant live into these hopes include warmth, humility, good listening skills, and the ability to build relationships across generations and differing perspectives. This ministry takes place in a small town and surrounding area in northern Maine, characterized by a close-knit population where many families have lived for generations. The rural community values relationships, local traditions, and a strong sense of neighborly support. Many residents travel long distances for work, healthcare and other services, and resources in the area can be limited. Because of this, the church often functions not only as a place of worship but also as a hub of encouragement and care. It hosts multiple AA meetings, a literary club and quilters club, and supports a variety of local and statewide organizations. To apply, please send your Vocation Hub profile, resume/CV, and a cover letter addressed to the Search Committee to Transition and Deployment Officer, the Rev. Suzanne Roberts. Half-time Priest in Charge | St. Dunstan’s, Ellsworth

St. Dunstan’s is in search of a half-time priest in charge who will joyfully accompany them in their next chapter working in God’s mission field. Ellsworth, “The Crossroads of Downeast Maine,” offers year round opportunities for outdoor recreation and is located near Acadia National Park. The church’s mission and focus are about care and connection, about our shared understanding of the dignity of every human being. This includes discerning and responding to community needs; many of the city’s essential service organizations bubbled up from the people at St. Dunstan’s. The free community meal program Everybody Eats serves 100 meals a week, and Friends in Action, which started with figuring out how to get a wheelchair-bound parishioner to church, has grown from its original home at St. Dunstan’s into an independent non-profit serving individuals throughout Hancock County. With trust in God’s plan for them, an open and welcoming attitude towards newcomers and ever-expanding presence in the community they church hopes to continue to attract new members, regardless of demographics. One of the hopes for their next priest is that they will be energized to join the congregation in these efforts. To apply, please send your Vocation Hub profile, resume/CV, and a cover letter addressed to the Search Committee to Transition and Deployment Officer, the Rev. Suzanne Roberts. Full-time Rector | The Aroostook Cluster

This is a multipoint call consisting of three rural congregation: St. Paul’s, Fort Fairfield; Church of the Good Shepherd, Houlton; and St. John’s, Presque Isle. The cluster operates on a proportional sharing model designed to ensure both equity and sustainability. Leading a three-parish cluster is a unique calling that requires a blend of diplomacy, organizational agility, and deep pastoral care. This role requires a leader who sees “three distinct parishes” not as a complication, but as a vibrant, multifaceted community of faith. Because the parishes share staff and costs, the rector must be a great communicator, as well as someone who can honor individuality and celebrate the unique “flavor” and traditions of each parish, while fostering a sense of unity. These parishes serve primarily farming communities where the pace of life is dictated by the seasons and the land. Being unapologetically rural means the dynamics are defined by deep roots and long memories. While the community faces the common challenges of rural areas—such as geographic distance and changing economic landscapes—it and its people are characterized by a fierce “can do” spirit and a profound sense of mutual reliance. To apply, please send your Vocation Hub profile, resume/CV, and a cover letter addressed to the Search Committee to Transition and Deployment Officer, the Rev. Suzanne Roberts. Two-thirds time Rector | St. Peter’s, Rockland

St. Peter’s seeks a warm, deeply spiritual, and collaborative leader to be its next rector. This welcoming and inclusive congregation in a beautiful region of coastal Maine has strong lay leadership, a love of liturgy and preaching the Word, and a proven track record of providing impactful outreach to the community. St. Peter’s has an office manager, a talented music director, and a committed community of worshipers, including a surprising number of clergy. Church finances are in good order, the building has a new roof and the grounds are neatly maintained. The church’s location in the center of the city of Rockland is key to the kinds of ministries in which it is engaged. Its external focus has been feeding programs, most notably “Loaves and Fishes,” which has been joined by other congregations including the local synagogue. The parish has also long welcomed seekers: individuals, families, “summer people,” and foreign visitors. Currently, the vestry is exploring ways to collaborate administratively with neighboring Episcopal churches. To apply, please send your Vocation Hub profile, resume/CV, and a cover letter addressed to the Search Committee to Transition and Deployment Officer, the Rev. Suzanne Roberts. Three-quarter time Rector | St. Ann’s, Windham

St. Ann’s is seeking a collaborative, adaptive, and spiritually grounded rector to guide the congregation with wisdom and care, empowering them to live more fully into their shared mission. The gateway to Maine’s lakes region, Windham combines the close-knit character of a small town with the increasing diversity and energy of a rapidly developing area. St. Ann’s congregation is deeply engaged with the local community through partnerships with neighboring churches, civic organizations, and service ministries. While the parish has historically experienced periods of pastor-centered leadership, it is intentionally broadening opportunities for lay leadership and participation across the life of the church. With thoughtful planning already underway and strong lay leadership emerging, the congregation is eager to partner with a rector who will help us build on our foundation of faithful worship, a warm welcome for all, compassionate service, and joyful community life. To apply, please send your Vocation Hub profile, resume/CV, and a cover letter addressed to the Search Committee to Transition and Deployment Officer, the Rev. Suzanne Roberts.
