We advocate for the importance of all members engaging in life-long faith journeys.

We consider engaging in outreach ministries and mission part of our faith journeys. These journeys take us from Sunday School to youth events to adult councils where we live out our faith and strive for social justice in the areas of: Advocacy, Creation Care, Racial Justice, Peace, Indigenous Relations, and Community Support ministries and domestic poverty initiatives. Each of these avenues in which we strive for social justice is led by an individual council working within our Diocesan Justice Commission. Reach out to Emily Keniston, Director of Faith Formation, to learn how you can get involved.

Advocacy

Bringing faith-based values to the public square.

We are joined in our Faith Formation ministry by the diocese’s Commission on Ministry in the work of discernment and led by our Justice Commission, Director of Public Policy John Hennessy, and Bishop Thomas Brown in bringing our faith-based values and voices in the area of social justice to the public-square.

Justice Commission Overview

Thanks to those of you who joined us for the  Justice Commission Town Hall. We are building God’s dream on Earth together, one person, one prayer, one action at a time! The recording here is inclusive of the worship experience with Reggie Harris and the overview of the Justice Commission, but it does not include breakout rooms. Here are some additional follow-up resources:

We are not Christians because we go to church; we use Church to help us become better Christians.

We can use Church to fortify, nourish and, inspire us, to practice living like Jesus in community so that we can go into our world to build God’s dream on earth.
