SUMMARY:Testify in favor of ERPO
DESCRIPTION:URGENT ACTION ALERT\nSign Up To Testify In Favor Of A True ERPO\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLast week\, Speaker Talbot Ross introduced a new bill that would create a true Extreme Risk Protection Order system for Maine. This will make sure that families and communities have the tools they need to keep their loved ones safe in the face of a mental health crisis. \nThis is a vital part of the gun safety legislative package so we’re asking you to Show Up for Gun Safety at the State House once again. The Public Hearing for LD 2283 has been scheduled for 9:00 AM on Friday\, April 5. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Speaker has shared with us that a large showing of support at the State House is vital to making sure this bill gets through the committee with the same success as the rest of our legislative package. So whether you plan to testify in person\, submit written testimony\, or just come to the Hearing while wearing something orange\, every supporter that shows up counts!\nIf you can’t come to the State House\, you can still make sure that your voice is heard to help get this bill passed by:\n1. Testifying by Zoom (this requires immense patience\, as you’ll go last)\n2. Submitting written testimony online \nAnd if you can come to the State House but don’t want to testify in person\, please do! You can hold signs\, wear something orange in support of our movement and bills\, and possibly speak to legislators to gauge their support for our legislation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn about ERPO

SUMMARY:Formation Conversation
DESCRIPTION:“Formation” is the work of deepening our faith and learning about God\, our faith tradition and ourselves throughout the course of our lives. And how we “form” Episcopalians is changing a lot as our churches and communities change! No matter what your connection to forming Christians is\, you are welcome at these informal conversations where we share ideas and updates\, bring our questions\, and pray for one another. You can come to one\, two or all conversations; they are held via Zoom on the third Thursday of each month from 10-11 am. Questions? Please be in touch with Emily Keniston.

SUMMARY:Clergy Conference
DESCRIPTION:Two-night clergy formation event brought to you by the Clergy Formation Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. \nFeast in a Time of Famine: Sacramental Life for our Secular Age with Rev. Dr. Patricia Lyons\nPassionate political divisions\, post-Covid exhaustion and dislocation\, an epidemic of loneliness\, crushing student and personal debt\, disparities in healthcare and education\, an ongoing opioid crisis and other shared cultural traumas continue to depress the public square and stifle the imaginations of people in all age groups. Narnia is frozen. Three centuries of mainline American church assumptions about sturdy membership\, sustaining tithes\, weekly attendance and other pillars of the Episcopal Church have slowly but surely been shifting\, drifting\, and weakening. Is hope in and for Episcopal faith communities naïve or a form of denial? In our time together we will survey data on the spiritual landscape of northern New England\, focusing on the de-institutionalized spiritual curiosity and desire for authentic faith community that polls higher and higher every year. Mindful of clergy exhaustion and burnout\, we will engage current models of ministry from across the country to mine the wisdom of faith communities that are finding renewal\, formation\, and joy right now. Aslan is indeed on the move. \nRegistration is now closed. \nCheck in starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at Rockefeller Hall. The first event of the evening is a gracious hour at 5 p.m. in the Moore Auditorium Atrium\, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. in Schooner Commons. If you require check in after 5 p.m. on Sunday\, please let Tracy Shaffer know email. \nTips and Reminders for Participants\nConference Agenda – Revised \nSchoodic Hiking Trails Map\nArea Bike & Trail Map \n
