SUMMARY:Dismantling Racism Trainings at the Center for Racial Healing
DESCRIPTION:Dismantling Racism training seeks to increase “racial understanding\, healing and reconciliation.” It is offered several times throughout the year and is required for all parish clergy and all lay leaders\, including vestry members. Trainings are offered by the Absalom Jones Episcopal Center for Racial Healing. \nTraining runs for one day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.  Each class is limited to 25 people. No more than six people from the same parish/organization can take the class on the same day. \nAll of the Dismantling Racism Training class for this year are on Zoom. \n​\nAvailable class dates are listed below. You can select your desired class date after you click to register. \nFor those outside of or not affiliated with the Diocese of Atlanta\, there is a $50.00 fee per person for the class. Click the link below on the right to select your date\, register and pay. Payment must be made in full to receive the link to join the class you select. Payments are non-refundable. If you are not able to take the class you registered for\, you can select another available class within the same year. DESCRIPTION:A Choral Evensong Service will take place on Sunday\, 22 October\, 4:00pm at St Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Yarmouth. \nChoral Evensong is a service of music\, beauty\, and mindful prayer. It is considered one of the glories of our Episcopal tradition. Music selections will feature some of the most beloved of 19th century sacred composers for this contemplative music-filled event. SUMMARY:Contemplative Knitting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Attend a Contemplative Knitting Workshop at St. Andrew’s\, Newcastle on October 28. Together with Julie Cicora\, retired Episcopal priest and author of the book “Contemplative Knitting”\,they’ve planned a day-long retreat to explore the connection between knitting and crocheting with prayer and meditation. Learn how to transform these calming and meditative activities into a spiritual practice. Whether you are an experienced knitter/crocheter\, or a novice\, bring your yarn and needles and discover how to quiet your mind and open your heart to God. Julie Cicora is a retired Episcopal priest who loves to knit! Her interests include writing \, riding her motorcycle\, and spending time with her grandchildren. The cost for the day is $25\, with all proceeds going to St. Andrew’s outreach programs. Bottled water\, coffee\, and tea will be provided\, but bring a packed lunch.
