SUMMARY:Restoration Laos Presentation in Castine
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, August 20\, 2:00 p.m.\, Restoration Laos brings its presentation to Emerson Hall\, 67 Court St\, Castine. \nThe Rev. Michael Ambler will present an informative session on the demining of Laotian fields for the safe future of the people of Laos. Laos is the most heavily bombed country on earth.  There are still 80 million live cluster bombs\, as well as larger bombs\, littering the country from U.S. bombing during the Vietnam War. \nRestoration Laos funds a team of brave Lao explosives clearance experts who are restoring land\, safety\, and peace of mind\, one village at a time. Restoration Laos has a single goal: to fund a bomb clearance team that would otherwise not be able to operate. Every rice paddy that is cleared can feed a village.  Every school yard can become a place of play without fear.  Clearing bombs not only saves lives\, doing so sets people free.  All are invited to come and hear about what Restoration Laos is doing to make a positive difference in today’s world. \nThere will be an opportunity for questions from the audience\, as well as refreshments and time for further conversation. Michael Ambler is an Episcopal priest and will be the guest preacher at 9:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church\, 150 Perkins St.\, Castine to which the public is always invited. More information about Restoration Laos may be found at www.restorationlaos.org.
