What Gun Violence Looks Like in Rural New England
Join Moms Demand Action chapters from NH, ME, and VT as we host a panel of experts to review what gun violence looks like in our rural states. We'll have a Research Manager, Suicide Prevention Expert, and the Director of Digital Organizing from Everytown for Gun Safety joining us to outlinethe gun violence statistics surrounding firearm suicide and the deadly connection between domestic violence and gun violence.
We often hear comments that "we don't have a gun violence issue in our state," but the rate of firearm suicide in each of our states is higher than the national average. And those rates have been increasing over the last 5 years.Talking to your friends and family about gun violence prevention may seem like a daunting task, but we’ve got news for you – it doesn’t have to be so hard. We will talk about how to engage with those we know to help make our communities safer.
