Stewardship in the 'New Normal'
Wednesday, June 23rd
Offered by CEEP
As the church regathers for in-person worship and activities, stewardship professionals, clergy leaders, and lay volunteers are looking for opportunities to engage congregations in ways that recognize a changed environment. With almost a year since most in-person gathering, raising funds critical to support ministry has been done virtually. Many congregations report that giving has held steady or even grown throughout COVID-time, demonstrating that the hard work of the last year has been successful.
At the same time, fundraisers realize that upcoming campaigns - particularly fall campaigns - won’t and can’t look like those of years past. With hybrid congregations and new members that might not be physically present, imagining new ways to engage donors is critical.
During the workshop, the panel will focus on several questions that will help frame a conversation on fundraising in this moment. These questions include:
- How do we connect mission and vision in the hybrid environment?
- With virtual congregations, how do we recruit and engage a Stewardship Committee?
- With a dispersed congregation, how do we maintain contact and build relationships?
- Can we start engaging now? What about preaching on stewardship in July?
