Epiphany House Blessings! New home? Old home never been blessed? Blessing need a touch up for this year? Fr. Brent would love to come and bless your home this Epiphany season. He’ll do the blessing from the outside only due to COVID, but it still works. Send him an email to schedule a time.
Mark the lintel of your home. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. ... and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. – Deuteronomy 6:6,9
There is an Epiphany tradition of marking the lintel of your doorway in chalk with the following: 20 C+M+B 21 2021 is obvious. CMB stands for Caspar, Melichor, Balthazar, the traditional names of the three Magi. It is also an abbreviation of Christus Mansionem Benedicat, Latin for “May Christ bless this dwelling!”
Burn your Christmas tree! Fr. Steve Hayward brought this tradition to St. Francis last year and we will continue it at Bring trees, wreathes, garlands, basically anything green and flammable to church 4:00 on Wednesday. * Make sure there are no metal frames in your wreathes.
