June 22 23: The Ordination and Consecration of the Tenth Bishop of Maine

The Right Reverend Thomas James Brown has been Ordained and Consecrated as the 10th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine.  The service was held at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, 143 State Street in Portland. An informal reception followed on the lawn of the Cathedral.

About the liturgy 
The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, the Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church was the chief-consecrator. The Reverend Barbara K. Lundblad, a Lutheran pastor and a retired homiletics professor, preached.

Save-the-Date:  Formal Seating of Bishop Thomas James Brown on October 26 
On Saturday, October 26th, following business at the 200th Convention of the Diocese and Bicentennial Celebration Kick-off, the newly consecrated bishop will be formally welcomed at the Cathedral of Saint Luke in Portland and seated in the cathedra, or bishop’s chair, that is symbolic of the bishop’s office.
