Registration

WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER

Who needs to complete online registration for Convention?
Everyone attending convention. All clergy, lay delegates and alternates, youth representatives, volunteers and visitors who will attend any part of Convention are required to register before October 4th. (Late registrations at an increased price accepted through October 11th.)
 
What does the fee include?
The registration fee helps offset the total cost of convention (space, parking, shuttles, etc.) and includes meals (breakfast, lunch, beverage service.) Generous subsidies help keep this fee low.
 
My priest or senior warden sent the diocese a form listing me as a delegate or alternate. Do I still need to register?
Yes, everyone, both clergy and lay, who is attending Convention is required to complete the registration form. The deadline is October 4th. (Late registrations at an increased price accepted through October 11th.)
 
Should alternate delegates who only plan to attend convention if a delegate is unavailable complete the online registration at this time? 
No. Only those attending should register. Alternates who are not planning to attend at this time should not register. Unavoidable changes that happen after registration is closed will be attended to at convention.
 
If I register, then find out I cannot attend, can I be issued a refund?
Refunds can be issued up to October 11th by contacting Teresa at . A refund may take up to 10 business days to process. If there is someone replacing you from your congregation who has not yet paid the registration fee, we may be able to transfer their registration to you. Again, please email and changes can't be made after October 11th.
 
HOW TO MAKE PAYMENT
 
Do I need to set up a PayPal account to pay?
No. When you click "submit" you will be redirected to the PayPal site. Navigate to the section (on the right hand side) that reads "Pay with a debit or credit card, or PayPal Credit" to begin. Here's what it should look like: PayPal Pages Help Guide. These forms do not work best with Internet Explorer. If you have another browser option, please use it. 
 
Can I pay by check? 
Registration is only set up to take electronic payments. Please have a debit or credit card or PayPal account info ready before you begin. When you click "submit" you will be redirected to the PayPal site to make payment. 
 
If each delegate completes his/her own registration, then can a parish make one payment by check to cover the total for all members of the delegation?
No. There is not a process for group registration or payment by check. Payment will be collected from individuals at the time of registration by credit card. Then parishes who plan to reimburse delegates or clergy, should do so directly.
 
Can a Parish Administrator complete the registration/order form for all members of the delegation and make one credit card payment to cover the total?
No. Online registration is set up for individual or individual plus spouse and/or child only. 
 
I made an error on my order form. (Example: I accidentally registered my wife, and she had already registered.) What should I do?
Please email  as soon as possible. Your order will be edited and you will be given a new total. Refunds will only be issued through October 11th. Refunds and revisions may take up to 10 business days.
 
Is scholarship assistance available?
Priests or Rectors may request financial assistance for delegates for whom the registration fee is a hardship. Please call Barb Martin at (207) 772-1953 x125.

NAMETAGS
 
We aim to not produce more waste than necessary. Nametags will not be provided at check-in. Please bring your nametag from your congregation or elsewhere. If you are  producing your own badges and would like to use our hanging style holders (avery 74459 3" by 4", you may use this template.
 

Contact Information

Please note that we will not be able to make any revisions to delegations past October 14th. Beyond that date, any changes will be handled at Convention. This is usually fairly simple, but it does require the priest or senior warden (if you are in a congregation without a priest) to be present to sign the official change certificate. Make sure you allow sufficient time in the morning to make changes. If you have an emergency after Thursday, October 24th, please contact Barbara Martin at 650-6070.  

Wi-Fi at USM

Is there wi-fi available at the Abromson Center?
While there is wi-fi at USM, please do not rely on it to view convention materials online. We ask that you download. Wi-fi is"UMSGuest". You will be asked to enter your email address.
 

Workshops and Exhibits 

I’d like to host a workshop or have a display table at Convention. Who can help me?  

The condensed one-day meeting will be for the business component of convention. There will not be exhibit/display tables due to lack of space and time. Convention-goers would not have time to peruse the displays. There will be an opportunity to display information about your network or ministry at Spring Training on March 21, 2020 (Augusta) or at Presiding Bishop Curry's Bicentennial Visit on May 2, 2020 (Bangor). More details to come.
